I don't know why we're even discussing this when choir is so obviously the best, but anyway... which are/were you?

ORCH DORKS REPRESENT!
Its almost annoying to be in orchestra in my HS because no one notices us. We're the butt Canada of the fine arts department. The band and choir are super awesome and have an epic rivalry and everyone loves them, but the orchestra? WHO? case in point:
Random Teacher Lady: I'd like to thank the Fine Arts Department for helping out so much with the Pep Assembly! Especially Mrs. R (choir teacher), Mr. L (band teacher), and, uh.... the orchestra guy.
She then looks to the side for a lifeline.
RTL: Of course! Mr. H! Me: D:<
Why do we even participate in the Madrigal Dinner anyway? That really is the Choir's night. not to say it isn't fun because it totally is We aren't even in the yearbook page for it.
[/bitter]
So the fact that my English teacher last year, Mr. L, actually went to Orchestra concerts upped my respect for him a lot. Of course, he did a bunch of other things that made me respect him too. He's amazing. <3
But really, I still love them. My group of friends almost completely consists of Choir Kids, Band Geeks, and Orchestra Dorks. I wouldn't have it any other way. <3
.... I play violin, if anyone cares.

At my old school, it was required to be a choir geek for certain years, plus I did band 4th and 5th and choir again 7th and 8th. Now, I'm none of the above and take guitar lessons outside of school~. The real choir/band/orchestra geeks are in the school we share a building with, which is /the/ arts school to go to in the state.

Your school sounds a lot like my middle school was. No one really cared about the orchestra except when they performed Viva la Vida with the choir and band in the seventh grade because the rest of their performances kinda sucked. Band and dance were always the coolest of the performing arts groups until the end of my seventh grade year, when we went to the Heritage Festival at Anaheim and did this:
Anyway, that performance earned a 97, a 97, and a 95 from the judges*, won us every award available to us at the festival, and helped our school get Best in Show. Our choir qualified for the Heritage Festival of Gold, which only like 20 groups out of the thousands that competed in the festival were selected for, and the Heritage Festival at Carnegie Hall, which is exactly what it sounds like-- a festival at Carnegie Hall. *For choir competitions, there are three judges who listen to your group perform, record commentary over the performance on what you did well and what you need to improve on, and assign overall scores out of 100 for your choir. For middle school, an 85-100 is a "Superior", while for high school, a "Superior" is 90-100. My choir's score of two 97s and a 95 is an extremely high score, and is especially unusual for middle-schoolers. Fun fact: When we were listening to the judges' commentary afterwords, the first word out of each of their mouths when we started singing was "Wow!"Then my choir teacher got pregnant so we couldn't go to either one, since they were both in New York just after her due date, but just knowing that we did so well makes me happy. ...I'm proud to be in choir, stfu.
