Hello there, have you ever had this happen to you*: "I really like this series, it's funny, well written, and pretty." "Yeah that's great and all but I liked it from the start, know more facts and have more merchandise than you. So I'm a better fan than you, so non of your statements are relevant."
OR: "While I'm a fan of this series I really don't like how...." "-GASP!-HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELF A FAN?! A true fan loves EVERYTHING about the series, flaws and all. To not love everything about it is blashphemy and if you don't deserve to watch such an awesome show!"
"I have some intresting theories about characters and what might happen next season." "It's not cannon, it's not made by the creators and thuse is not important to the series. So why are you telling everyone this?"
"It's intresting to see some of the changes the show is going to take and how the creators are going to keep it fresh and intresing!" "What do you mean, they're going to change everything and it's going to SUCK and then it's going to lose all it's fans and deystroy the franchise/get canceled. Nothing should be changed EVER!"
Well I'm here to give you examples of fanbrats and general fandom and how to deal/combate the person(s) with skill, logic, and poise. *Not actual arguments, only dramatizations for the most part, although this was more or less their message. No fandoms were actually hurt in the making of this post.

Thank you for this. Even though this is mostly a very sane fandom, it sucks running into the super-devout fans who worship everything about it.

Thank you for this. Even though this is mostly a very sane fandom, it sucks running into the super-devout fans who worship everything about it. That and the ones who think that if they change anything in the series it will be ruined. For example when they chagned the title to World Series: Hetalia instead of Axis Powers:Hetalia. A bunch of fans on some of the video boards were flipping out because they thought that meant that Italy, Germany, and Japan were going to be completely ignored. And then they changed the ending song and another, possibly the same group, flipped out saying that they're going to drive loyal fans away or that it was the beginning of them changing other things. Like character designs and voice actors. No seriously.

^...What. I mean, there are several things on that list that I dislike, but I just dislike them because they don't appeal to me, not because of the fact that they're changes. And what the fuck, changing two words in the title doesn't mean they'll delete the main goddamn characters!

^Yeah apperantly that's what they thought. Moving on. "I really like X/X, they're my favorite ship!" "NO, that ship doesn't make any sense! X and X should never be together because they hate each other/relationship is more like siblings(event though their not) are just friends, and should be with X because ect. and your just weird for liking those two together.(Note a Austira/Hungary fangirl ACTUALY said that on a youtube vid based on Prussia/Hungary. : One of the things I like about this show is how it inspires me to do some awesome fanart/fanfiction/cosplay." "You shouldn't draw fanart/fanfiction/cosplay, it's an insult to the creators and you might as well be stealing from the creators themselves. True real fans don't do that.""While I don't agree with all the choices of the dub, I'm sure it'll still be entertaining." "NO! The dub is going to be terrible, and they're going to make all the characters sound stupid and only cast "popular" voice actors ((Yeah cause they don't do that in Japan. :) and besides the only way you SHOULD watch ANY anime is in the original undubbed version, the way it was intended to be viewed.""I kind of wish there was more variety in the caracters." "That's because the creators are RACIST/CHAUVANIST/BIGOTs. He (they) don't really like non white/male/-insert nationality here.- and so they either don't draw them or don't pay attention to them at all! That alone and nothing else makes them horrible people!""I really like X character." "I think x is attractive, smart, funny. I like them so much that they're the only reason I watch this show. I think the writting is awful, hate all the other characters (especially the ones who might be paired with my favorite characer) the jokes are horrible, and I hate the plot. And I fast forward through all the other parts just to get a glimpse at my favorite character. BTW here's a bunch of fanart and fanfiction I made of them with my OC(self insert) even though you didn't ask me about it."

Part II: Dealing With Fantards.
The next part is how to deal with the annoying species of fan. 1. Make sure you yourself don't slip into fanbratness. Avoid phrases like: "I liked it before it was popular." or "Only TRUE fans..." And reminding yourself: "It's just a show, and liking a show and being part of a fandom is supposed to be fun, and none of it is SRS BSSNS. So I will not treat it as such." And that's what a real fan is, someone who just in it for the fun. Fanbrats suck all the fun out of fandoms with shipwars/arguments/and bad attitudes that make normal fans facepalm.
2.Most fanbrats, the one's I've dealed with anyway, have an over inflated ego that can bruise easily. Wether that be from a critique on a fan piece or you simply stating you don't like the character they like. So pick your battles carefully, alot of the times they will NOT admit that they are wrong or that they are even fanbrats. So for the most part don't engage them, and if possible block them or report for their breaking the rules. (Most fansites/fourms I've been on has rules about in fandom fighting.)
