Today I met a part-Japanese redheaded 14-year-old. Luckily, she was a perfectly nice person with no mental issues that I could tell. Yay, so far I've still avoided meeting an IRL Asuka! Google it. I'm never going back.

Grawr. Fandomsecrets is annoying and whiny. Nah, I see it as a PostSecret of fandoms, and lets be honest we've all done one or two things on there. Infact I've actually posted a few things on Fandomsecrets myself. Just so long as you remember that for the most part the people on there are rather embarassed about what their a fan of in the first place, like Pokemon, Yugioh, ect., and feel this is the only place to really vent/let out their frustrations. And just because there's been a recent infulx of Aholes on the site doesn't mean every single member is or that all the posts are whiny.

CT: Cuuuuuute! So cuuuute! ashgtfglmbrhaznit CUTE. OH MY GOD MY HEAD JUST EXPLODED. Grawr. Fandomsecrets is annoying and whiny. It wasn't the fandoms itself that annoyed me, it was seeing post after post of "x fandom repaired my relationship!" or "x fandom is ruining my life!" If people honestly can't drag themselves away from the computer long enough to fix their lives on their own, then I'm sorry, but that's unbelievably pathetic. And most of the rest is just talking about how embarrassed they are about how they think x character is hot or y series sucks or z series is umg teh behst!!one!1! in a really, really creepy and super-obsessed way. Overly devoted fans like that tick me off.

But at the same time, we are all guilty of acting a tad overly obessed about out fandoms.(Just read several of our posts over on the other site, even though we're joking and not taking it as SRSBSSNS we do come off somewhat as obessive to an outsider.) And just because someone made ONE post on ONE website doesn't make them obessed with a fandom or character. Plus compared with other sites fandomsecerts are relatively sane because they are aware that they're taking alot of their fandom to seriously, but aren't getting overly deffensive about it and to be honest for some people (like myself and others) our fandoms are really the only places we feel comfortable or accepted.

Acting overobsessed, yes. Being overobsessed, no. This is just me speaking, but whenever I pretend to be a super-obsessed fan, I always try to make it clear that I'm not being serious. When those posts are about how they feel like that character really understands them and the fandom takes up all their time, they come off as obsessed to me. Maybe I'm weird for never feeling like that. But that's the impression I got. "Relatively" sane doesn't mean much on the Internet. >.> Just sayin'. That point I will give you, but what I don't understand is that if they know they're taking their fandoms too seriously, why don't they just... stop taking them so seriously? Again, this might just be me, but it's really not difficult to lighten up about something and learn to disengage from it a little. So I guess this is just my view speaking, then. I like my fandoms as long as they're not srsbsns, but I do my best to keep most of my focus on being comfortable and making a majority of my friends there. Like I said, what really irritated me were the posts about their fandoms having a large effect on their real life. For example, one post was about how Guitar Hero fixed someone's relationship with their dad. If that relationship could be fixed with Guitar Hero, I really doubt it was that problematic to begin with.

I went there, and it didn't seem so bad. in fact, i mostly just lol'd Of course, I only read like three posts. Some of them were pretty crazy though.
