In Twilight Princess' defense, though, you get to blow up a bomb shop, turn into a wolf, and summon hawks n' shit. /barely even plays video games
Oh definitely. Twilight Princess was an awesome game, but I think it was trying too hard at times. It really wanted to be better than or even the next OoT. It was like "look at me I'm epic!"
Though, OoT laid the basics for future Zelda game, it just didn't have the ZING that MM had with the three day cycle. I really wish we could visit Termina again.
The story was awesome.
WTF IS RONG WIF U!!11!! I remember watching a vent on YT how MM was better than OoT. Her argument was rather weak. Better graphics? They are nice, but they don't make one game better than another. Original? We all know how SOME original things can turn out terrible.
Yup. OoT is so influential. You pretty much can't have a Zelda game now that doesn't refrence it in some capacity. Especially with the whole musical aspect. Other games had a warp flute or whatever, but OoT really cemented it in. And the idea of Ganon/dorf being human instead just a pig-thing all the time! And just the BGM in it! There was srs hard work gone into that game. and I love how it was basically a huge NO U at Sony.
And besides, the graphics were too similar, being only two years apart. You can't really argue that. What I most noticed about the improvements in graphics were really about the movements of people. They actually had joints! They weren't stiff like in OoT which gave them even more life. MM was very much character driven.
And about the originality. The originality in MM is what causes most people to dislike it. The three-day cycle is the most obvious one, but there's also the fact that everything is a subquest and that there are only four main dungeons instead of the formulaic approach that LttP, OoT, WW, and TP take: three dungeons and finding three things, get the master sword and a plot twist, now more dungeons and stuff to collect. People think the four dungeons makes it too short, but even then you have to realize that it was released two years after OoT and is essentially a filler game.
I love how Zelda hijacked this thread lol.
